TWIN PEAKS, San Francisco — Twin Peaks’ natural trails provide an outdoor connection toward Glen Canyon Park that differs from the popular vehicle overlook.
The Recreation and Parks facility guide describes approximately 0.7 mile of hilltop trail network and a longer Creeks-to-Peaks route extending about 1.2 miles from Twin Peaks toward Glen Canyon Park. The surrounding grasslands and coastal scrub provide habitat for birds and butterflies, while the hilltop paths offer panoramic views. Strong wind, uneven grades and poison oak are among the considerations for walkers.
Those trail descriptions are baseline park information, not a guarantee that all segments are open in November 2026. The eastern promenade construction has caused temporary restrictions, including on the Crestline Trail, and detours may be marked on site.
What residents and visitors should know
Before attempting the route, consult the current department’s construction map and follow temporary fencing. Carry water and layers, keep dogs leashed, and use formal paths to limit erosion and protect vegetation.
